FOR STUDENTS:

THE STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM













INTERNSHIPS

Objectives:

  1. Give paid internships to students who want to reform culture.

  2. Utilize these students for the Foundation’s programs.

  3. Outsource students to other non-profit organizations.

Since January 2008:

  1. Recruited 4 interns

    1. oKristin Burckel, Nutrition Major, University of Alabama   

      1. Began development of the nutrition section of the Family Resource Center.

    2. oJoseph Cheney, Political Science Major, University of Alabama       

      1. Learned promotion, business, and event coordination.

    3. oChad Colon, Pre-Medicine, University of Alabama       

      1. Began construction of the newborn and crisis sections of the Family Resource Center.

    4. oErin Little, Telecommunications and film, University of Alabama

      1. Served in media promotion, stage management, and camera operation.

  2. For the Rest of 2008:

  3. Pay interns for their work.

  4. Raise funds to pay future interns.

  5. Communicate with other non-profits about their volunteer needs.

For the Future:

  1. Train and properly fund all interns.

  2. Outsource interns to other non-profit organizations.


INTERNET

Objective:

  1. Develop a community website

    1. oThat is password protected.

    2. oWhich has video and information upload capabilities.

    3. oWhich provides a calendar of events for students organizations.

  2. Since January 2008:

  3. Began Construction of the Community website

    1. oFor organizations to post events and information.

    2. oTo give students the ability to upload live video feed, information about community service projects, and practical information that is helpful to students.

  4. For the Rest of 2008:

  5. Continue to strengthen relationships with student organizations.

  6. Connect with new student organizations.

In the Next 3 Years:

  1. Unify student organizations across the state through the community website.

  2. Give student organizations access to statewide promotion of their events.


TELEVISION/FILM/PUBLICATION


Objectives:

  1. Give students internships for production, directing, script-writing, editing, performance, promotions, and business.

  2. Give them practical experience.

  3. Instruct them on how to reform culture in their respective field.

Since January 2008:

  1. Students helped produce the film and show for A Dream Worth Living Fundraiser.

For the Rest of 2008:

  1. In pre-production for two student films (community-service oriented, production begins January 2009).

In the Next 3 Years:

  1. Produce television/film/publication that promotes cultural reform for students.



LIVE EVENTS


Since January 2008:

  1. All four interns contributed to A Dream Worth Living Fundraiser and The Ladies and Gentlemen’s Ball, serving as recruiters, promoters, advisors, and coordinators.

For the Rest of 2008:

  1. Help with Acoustic Night.

In the Next 3 Years:

  1. Provide a steady calendar of live events that encourage good behavior for students.
